音樂劇中的小男孩

在電影《孤星淚》(Les Misérables, 2012) 中，我最喜愛是 Anne Hathaway 飾的 Fantine 在絶望中聲撕力竭唱 "I Dreamed a Dream" 的一段。

一首歌媚媚道出了主人翁的身世。

There was a time when men were kind
When their voices were soft
And their words inviting

曾經，圍繞在她身邊的人是善良的，他們的聲線和諧悅耳。世界曾是一首美妙的歌曲，但愛與命運在靜夜裡悄然而去，美夢凋零破滅。

歌詞本身已震撼人心，再加上 Anne Hathaway 的演繹，令人心碎。

電影中男童 Daniel Huttlestone 的演出，同樣是十分出色。

小男孩 Gavroche 儘管衣衫襤褸，他的出場絶不遜於其他角色。一首曲 "Look Down" 交待了小主角的出身。

究竟  Gavroche是誰？他這樣介紹自己。雖生活於貧民區，他擁有的就是自由。

 

Ow do you do? My name's Gavroche.
These are my people. Here's my patch.
Not much to look at, nothing posh
Nothing that you'd call up to scratch.
This is my school, my high society
Here in the slums of Saint Michele
We live on crumbs of humble piety

小小 Gavroche 與一眾革命青年在一起，目光堅定，勇敢無懼，以小人兒的方式作戰。

Little people know, when
Little people fight, we

(Gunshot Gavroche is wounded.)

May look easy pickings
But we've got some bite!
(He is hit again.)
So never kick a dog
Because he's just a pup
(He is hit again)
We'll fight like twenty armies
And we won't give up
So you'd better run for cover
When the pup grows....
(Gunshot, he dies)

Gavroche  的出場，讓我想起《Oliver!》 (1968) 中的 The Artful Dodger。

若將兩套電影比較，仍是愛 1968 年的霧都孤兒。
